Aquatic Therapy

Atlas Physical Therapy offers aquatic physical therapy services for water therapy rehabilitation and wellness. Our physical therapy staff is fully trained in aquatic rehabilitation and will design an aquatic program based on your unique situation, needs and goals.

These properties include buoyancy, which allows less weight bearing through the joints, and viscosity, or resistance, which is patient controlled by the speed of the exercises. Pressure from the water assists in promoting circulation and decreasing swelling. During therapy, the water in our aquatic therapy pools is kept at a comfortable temperature of 92 degrees. This warmth allows a calming effect that improves a patient’s tolerance to exercise and overall function.

Bottom Line

Moving is just easier in the pool. This environment allows for longer periods of exercise without the after effects that come with traditional land therapy.
