Ron practiced as a licensed physical therapist and licensed and certified athletic trainer. Ron graduated from Samford University and received his Athletic Trainer Certification in 1989. He attended the Medical College of Georgia where he received his Physical Therapy degree in 1992. In 1999, Ron opened Atlas in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. Ron used his prior clinic management experience to develop a therapy facility that emphasized orthopedics with a prime focus on providing excellent outcomes for the patients. He provided his athletic trainer services in Birmingham, Augusta, Tampa and Jacksonville over the past 30 plus years serving youth sports, middle and high school athletics, collegiate and professional athletes. Ron retired from Atlas in August of 2020. He and his wife continue to live in Saint Johns County.
Adam is a licensed physical therapist and licensed and certified athletic trainer. He received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Florida. Adam joined the Atlas team in 2001 and has been involved in all facets of the business from patient care to management and ultimately ownership. Adam holds additional certifications in strength and conditioning as a CSCS through the NSCA and in personalized blood flow restriction through Owens Recovery Science. He has invested additional time attending management and leadership training through Crestcom’s Bullet Proof Manager program. He has also spoken nationally on the topics of private practice growth and ownership. Adam extends his experience and knowledge in the fields of strength and conditioning and business management as owner and Director of Operations at Tork Sports Performance, LLC. Adam lives in St. Johns County with his wife and 4 children.
Leo is a licensed physical therapist and licensed and certified athletic trainer. He attended the University of North Florida for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Leo joined the Atlas team in 2006 and serves as the clinic director at the County Road 210 location. Leo is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and has worked as an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Florida Department of Clinical and Applied Movement Sciences. He has an additional certification in personalized blood flow restriction through Owens Recovery Science. Additionally, he serves as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) establishing a network of relationships with academic institutions across the country to educate physical therapy and athletic training students. Leo lives in St. Johns County with his wife and 3 children and he never misses a Jags game!
Lisa is a physical therapist and clinic director at our World Golf Village location. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2003 from the University of St. Augustine. She has been with Atlas since 2006 and has specialized in orthopedic manual therapy as well as vestibular rehabilitation. She lives in St. Johns, FL with her two boys. She enjoys running, yoga, strength training and paddle boarding in her spare time.
Matt is a licensed physical therapist and the clinic director at Atlas in Mandarin. Matt joined the Atlas team in 2018 and is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and also a certified strength and conditioning specialist as a CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Matt attained his undergraduate degree from Florida Gulf Coast University where he played soccer and went on to graduate from the University of St. Augustine with his Doctor of Physical Therapy. Matt coaches youth soccer in the area for Florida Elite Soccer Academy. Matt lives in St Johns County with his wife.
Michelle is a licensed physical therapist who has been with Atlas since 2012. Michelle graduated from the University of St. Augustine with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 and UNF with her Bachelors in Athletic Training in 2007. Michelles specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and is working towards advancing her skills in vestibular rehabilitation. Michelle lives in St. Johns county with her husband and 2 children and enjoys spending any spare time outdoors.
Michelle is a licensed physical therapist who received her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri Columbia in 2007. Michelle began working with Atlas in 2016 shortly after relocating to Florida and is currently the director of the Pelvic Health Program serving both men and women. Michelle holds an additional certification as a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). She lives in St Johns County with her husband, 2 kids, and 2 dogs.
Tom is a licensed physical therapist with a background in baseball, powerlifting, and sports performance. He graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Nova Southeastern University and his B.S from The University of Florida. Tom is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He was one of the first certified blood flow restriction providers in the state of Florida through Owens Recovery Science. As the Director of Applied Clinical Science (DACS) for Atlas, he mediates and facilitates regular clinical education to ensure we maintain the best practices that current scientific evidence promotes. Tom has extensive experience in treating athletes, with special interest in the overhead athlete (baseball, QBs, CrossFit, etc.). He has worked as a strength and conditioning coach and physical therapist with athletes from the MLB, MiLB, NFL, NFL Combine, USOC, NCAA, HS, and USA Powerlifting. Tom is recognized nationally as a Baseball Health Professional Certified Provider, through Baseball Health Professionals, LLC. Tom continues to be involved in the development of athletes and progression of rehab, as the Director of Sports Performance at Tork Sports Performance, LLC. Tom is committed to the advancement of sports and orthopedic physical therapy, as well as optimizing the performance of athletes and the general population alike. He resides in St. Johns with his wife and Golden Retriever, Brewster.
Michael is a licensed Physical Therapist and licensed and certified Athletic Trainer. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Nova Southeastern University and his B.S. in Athletic Training from The University of Central Florida where he also played hockey. Michael joined the Atlas team in 2020 and is recognized as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has worked as a Physical Therapist with athletes of all levels including NFL, MLB, MLS, NCAA, high school and recreational. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Michael was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with the University of California, Berkeley Athletics Department. He lives in Jacksonville with his fiancée and two dogs and continues to be active in the hockey community.
John is a licensed Physical Therapist and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) who joined the Atlas team in 2021. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Central Florida and his B.S. in Exercise Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida. John previously worked at Atlas from 2017-2018 as a PT technician and gained experience training athletes at the high school, college, and professional level after obtaining his CSCS. He is committed to integrating evidence-based principles of strength and conditioning and sports performance into his practice to help optimize rehabilitation potential, both for athletes and the general population. John regularly trains to improve his own strength, power, and athletic performance and enjoys playing basketball in his spare time. He currently lives in the Deerwood area with his fiancé.
Hannah is a licensed and certified athletic trainer that started with Atlas in 2014. She treats patients in the clinic and provides outreach to Bartram Trail High School assisting with medical coverage for games and competitions. Hannah moved to Jacksonville in 2007, graduated from Mandarin High School, and attended the University of North Florida to receive her Bachelor’s in Athletic Training in 2015.
Nick is a licensed Physical Therapist with a background in baseball, CrossFit, and sports performance. He graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, VA, and his B.S from Liberty University, where he played Division 1 baseball. Nick is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a Level 1 Certified Crossfit Trainer and a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. He has spent time at EXOS sports performance and Tork Sports Performance where he worked with professional athletes from multiple sports. He has extensive experience with strength and conditioning, multiple years teaching CrossFit, and an extensive background in weightlifting. Nick resides in St. Johns County.
Kimberly is a licensed physical therapist assistant and has been with Atlas since 2003. Kimberly has worked extensively with orthopedic conditions of all kinds as well as pelvic health and obstetrics. She is also a personalized blood flow restriction provider through Owens Recovery Science. Kimberly has competed in both CrossFit and powerlifting and is passionate about educating women on the importance of strength through weight training. Kimberly lives in St. Johns County with her husband and 4 children.
Lori first received her health care associate certificate from CCAC South in Pittsburgh, Pa in 1984. She started her medical billing career in a hospital setting in Brockton, MA in 1986. She then moved on to the physical therapy billing industry in Doylestown, PA in 1990, eventually becoming the office manager. Lori moved to St Johns County in 2006 and in 2007 joined Atlas Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, Inc, were she quickly ascended to the Billing Directors position. She has completed numerous continuing education classes and webinars to stay up to date on the ever-changing billing world of physical therapy. She has also completed the Crestcom Bullet Proof Manager Program. In her spare time, she enjoys deep sea fishing, camping and Harley riding with Troy and her Austrian Sheppard, Diesel.
